Welcome back to the PCDworks
newsletter. September was a
busy month for us. We kicked
off a
new website, took on
some exciting new projects
and presented at the annual
PDMA conference (details
below).
For those of you who don't
know us yet, PCDworks
specializes in solving the
most difficult technology
challenges on the road to
exciting new products.
Please give us a call if
you've got any questions
about what we do and how we
might be able to work
together for better product
development- we're always
looking for a fun new
challenge to tackle!
We look forward to hearing
from you,

Super Blunder

In
another of a line of
"preaching to the choir"
discussions I would like to
talk again about our
declining technological edge
in the United States.
Specifically, I would like
to discuss perhaps the
greatest techno/political
screw-up of the last 50
years.
First, let me say that I am
NOT a Congress beater. I'm
pretty sure that among the
"tough guy" set, and most
engineers fall into that
set, there are many that
hate Congress, for a variety
of reasons. As a
congressional aide once told
me; everybody hate Congress,
but they love their own
congressperson! However,
Congress in 1993 made, in my
opinion, the most colossal
technical blunder ever
committed by a governing
body in this country. With
that piece of hyperbole, let
me explain.
In 1993, Congress killed the
Superconducting Super
Collider (SSC)...

PCDworks Presents at PDMA
Conference |
|

During the annual conference
of the Product Development
and Management Association
in Orlando, PCDworks hosted
a vendor booth and taught a
day long workshop.
We met many new prospective
partners, re-connected with
old friends, and learned
some valuable lessons from
the other presenters.
In the workshop, Mike
Rainone and James Wardlaw
(of Ingersoll-Rand) unveiled
some strategies for finding
and applying technologies to
make breakthrough products.
We appreciate everyone's
support and interest in our
organization, and look
forward to working with the
PDMA and its members in the
coming years to further the
art of breakthrough product
development.
